Recycling Baler Cylinder Repair

One of our local clients recently experienced a significant crack along the barrel of a recycling baler cylinder. The reduction of downtime was paramount.  Our experienced team sourced a replacement barrel, which required machining to meet the sizing specifications of the original barrel. The trunnion mount from the original cylinder was removed and reused on the new barrel. The piston was machined off the shaft and a new piston was manufactured. The shaft was polished and new seals were installed. The cylinder was returned to our client and we assisted with the re-installation into the baler.

Radiation Detection Device – RadComm Model RC4096

Warrnambool Hydraulics and Pacific Material and Handling have jointly manufactured this portable radiation detection device.

Pacific Materials and Handling are the Australian distributor of the world leading Radcomm brand of radiation detection devices.

This RadComm Model RC4096 detector scans the loads on trucks before they are unloaded to ensure there is no radioactive waste within the load.

This portable Radcomm vehicle detection system can be moved to demolition sites, shipping ports and other recycling sites. It is the first of its type anywhere in the world.

Prevention of contaminated waste entering the recycling system prevents costly radioactive contamination of scrap yards, steel plant, recycling plants and equipment.

PC4000

Warrnambool Hydraulics designed and installed the hydraulic system to run an upgraded shear attachment on this PC4000. This shear was custom manufactured in the USA for our customer McMahon Services. This is the largest mobile shear in the world. Warrnambool Hydraulics were requested to custom design modifications to the existing hydraulic circuit on the 400 tonne excavator. The PC4000 failed to supply sufficient pressure and flow to operate the shear to its full potential. The new system was designed around available components. Warrnambool Hydraulics was commissioned to complete these improvements within a six week timeline.

Warrnambool Hydraulics engineered custom cylinders to accommodate this attachment and have been involved in further upgrades for other attachments.

AVA – Mobile starting barrier

Warrnambool Hydraulics manufactures the structural and hydraulic elements of the AVA Integrity units. These AVA units are used by harness racing associations as mobile starting barriers. These units are programmed to be ‘fully automatic’ ensuring every race begins consistently. Custom design, engineering, fabrication and installation have ensured this system operates without flaw on the Toyota Hilux.
